From Crooks and Liars
A controversial Koran-burning pastor accidentally discharged his firearm Thursday night in the parking lot of a TV station after appearing on a talk show with a Muslim cleric.
Terry Jones had appeared on Fox 2′s Let it Rip program along with Hassan Al-Qazwini, the leader of Deaborn’s Islamic Center of America, prior to the incident.
This guy runs a tiny, irrelevant church in Gainesville, Fla. He became a media celebrity because of a stupid stunt (burning a Koran on a barbecue grill) that created an international incident and lead to the violent deaths of U.N. workers in Afghanistan. He doesn’t have the brains to put the safety of a deadly weapon that the state of Florida lets him carry around without consequence. Why, exactly, does a “man of God” need to carry a .40 caliber handgun, anyway?
And to top it all of, he was planning to hold a demonstration outside an Islamic center in Dearborn, Mich., knowing it could incite more violence. (Did I fail to mention he’s carrying a gun with him that he accidentally fired in his car? What possibly could happen if he incites violence?)
He a danger to himself and to the rest of the world. That kind of person used to be committed. Is it really that hard to ignore everything he does?
